In support of the science mission of the Center, co-PI Houser along with Dr. Douglas Sherman at TAMU (now at University of Alabama) and other faculty and graduate students from the TAMU GeographyDepartment have been mapping the 100 ha of forest and establishing benchmarks within the 4 sub-watersheds of the Rio Chachagua since January 2007.
The Soltis Center actively supports scientists from outside Texas A&M. To date, it has hosted several academic groups and researchers, such as the Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS)/Duke University field courses, researchers from Harvard University, and German institutions.
